In short, NO. The final coat of our jewelry whether is gold or silver doesn’t not change in color due to daily use. It doesn’t tarnish or rust.
however, since we already explained our manufacturing process in ”What is Gold Plated/Vermeil/Filled Jewelry” you already know by now that the gold layer is an average layer coating different metals alloy. This means the user should always take some simple precautions while using the pieces to prolong the durability of the color.
these precautions are:
1- Avoid water exposure: our pieces are water resistant and not water proof. They can bear accidental exposure to water few times but do not resist water. Therefore showering or swimming while wearing our jewelry is nit recommended
2- Avoid Chemicals: no perfumes or body lotions are to be applied directly on the pieces. This is to avoid any chemical peeling for the protection coat or the gold layer on the pieces.
3- Clean with soft cloth with no water or chemicals: finger prints are expected due to the shiny polished coat of the pieces. Use a soft tissue paper or a jewelry velvet cloth to clean the items. Do not scrub harshly the pieces to avoid scratches
That’s all! It is basically the same way we care for any unique item we own in our wardrobe. Nothing crazy ;)
